Syston Bowling Club carnival success

By the close of the event, thanks to the efforts of all those Members involved, £300 was added to Club funds and close to £100 raised for Rainbows.

Other sections of the stall comprised cakes and preserves, all made by Members, crafts and needlework single handedly produced by Marlene Murray, and second hand books donated by Ladies’ President, Chris Biddles. A “Guess the number of cones” competition, organised by Jan Holmes, also featured.

The money for Rainbows was the result of initial sales of the special “Syston - My kinda town” 2012 full-colour calendar produced by the Club in a collaborative effort between the incoming Ladies’ and Men’s Presidents, Sheila Parker and Bob Dunlop.
