Leicester Charity Link Golf Day raises £4,000

A charity golf day held in aid of Leicester Charity Link on Thursday 20th September raised £4,000. The event was sponsored by Flowers Associates and Creative 62 was held in the stunning back- drop of Charnwood Forest, Leicestershire at Park Hill Golf Course.

Ten teams battled against each other across a tricky course. The rain just about held off and there was even a spot of sunshine! Fortunately a two course meal was on hand so the golfers could relax as well as discuss their golf day experiences of the day.

It was a tightly fought contest, but in the end there was only one winner. The impressive GTC International with Flowers Associates coming in at a very close second. The Nearest the Pin competition was won by Andy Rudkin, Creative 62 and the Longest drive was won by Peter Wright, OPS & Associates.

The Most Valuable Player was awarded to Nick Griffith, GTC International.

An amazing £4,000 was raised for the day that will help the most vulnerable in our community. A huge thank you to all the teams that participated, the hole sponsors and prize donators who made the day a success! Here’s to next year’s event!

Sue McEniff of Leicester Charity Link said the event – which also featured a raffle – had been a resounding success.

She added: “Everyone who attended had a wonderful day. Due to the unique way in which we work, we will be able to convert the £4,000 raised on the day into £20,000 by accessing grants for individuals in need. All of that £20,000 will go to help local vulnerable people and children in desperate need. I would like to thank Flowers Associates, Creative 62, Sam Johnson Photography, all the golfers and sponsors who ensured that the day was a great success.”

Adam Flowers, Consulting Director of Flowers Associates said “We are always delighted to be involved with this event, now in its 3rd year. Leicester Charity Link does such a good job and I’m delighted at the amount of money raised for such a good and local cause. Our thanks go to all those who were involved on the day and of course to Park Hill Golf Club for their first class hospitality.”

Mark Robinson, Director at Creative 62, said “Creative62 were  delighted to partner Leicester Charity Link and Flowers Recruitment in the 2012 Charity Golf Day. We'd like to thanks the supporters and sponsors for their generosity and hope they can again join us next year.”

These items may not cost much but they can make a massive difference and change people’s lives for the better.
