Abseiling for Charity!
Richard and I came across a wonderful charity this year called “Leicester Charity Link”, and were so inspired by the work they do, we asked if we could help them in any way. They wondered if we were up to the challenge of abseiling over 100 feet down the front of the Ramada Encore Hotel in Leicester on Saturday 9th March. This would not only raise much needed funds, but also help with their publicity of having the High Sheriff and his wife taking the plunge!
Here are the pictures to prove that we actually did it, and so far we have raised over £1,500 for the charity.
Each year Leicester Charity Link helps over 5,500 extremely vulnerable people and children (throughout Leicestershire & Rutland), who are experiencing poverty. They provide everyday items that the majority of us take for granted. A bed to sleep in, clothing, a cooker to prepare hot meals and — in emergencies — food. These items may not cost much, but they make a massive difference to people’s lives. For every £10 that is donated, Leicester Charity Link can raise another £40 from charitable trusts that have pledged support, and all of that £50 goes directly to those in need.
