Local Children’s Charity Menphys is ‘Chosen By’ Narborough Hall
The owners of a Leicestershire gift shop have selected an organisation supporting local children with disabilities as its Charity of the Year.
Narborough Hall has chosen to raise money for Menphys, a Leicestershire charity providing support and services to children with disabilities or complex health needs, as well as their families.
Simon Edwards, who co-owns Narborough Hall with wife Sophie, comments: “We are proud to be supporting Menphys and are delighted to name it as our charity of the year. We are firm believers in supporting local good causes and we are impressed with the services that Menphys provides for children with disabilities and the support it offers to families in the county. The charity needs to raise at least £500,000 each year in order to maintain and develop its work, so we are keen to do what we can to donate towards this target.
Narborough Hall, which is based on Coventry Road in Narborough, will now be working with the charity on a number of fundraising events, including the ‘Menphys Mile’ Fun Run in Narborough on 19th
September, Narborough Hall’s popular Christmas Preview event which takes place 12-16th October and a number of events in 2016, in order to raise money for Menphys.
Tracey Morris, fundraising and marketing manager at Menphys, comments: “At Menphys we remain committed to our mission to provide a professional service to children and young people with complex health needs, disabilities and special educational needs, along with their families. We focus on empowering children and young people in the county. People often perceive us as a national charity yet we’ve been active in the county for 40 years. To be chosen as Charity of the Year by a such a high profile local business is amazing and we look forward to working in partnership with Narborough Hall.”
