Clarkes - The Fourth Generation

Congratulations to Harry Clarke, for passing his NVQ level 2 for proficiency in meat and poultry. Apart from receiving his certificate Harry was also awarded the John Croxford trophy which is presented to a learner who has overcome adversity in order to gain skills and complete NVQ Level 2 in butchery. John Croxford was the founder of Meat Ipswich, he had the ability to motivate and train young people to exemplary level. Many of these young people went on to have very successful careers within the meat industry. 

Get ready for Autumn and Christmas with Clarkes Multi award winning 1lb Pork Pie which this year will be joined by our NEW 2lb Pie. Don't forget our Local Blue Stilton topped pork pie with Caramalised onion chutney and our Pork pie topped with Leicester red and tomato chutney. 

Exclusively available at Clarke’s shop in Queniborough at present are their hearty family sized meat pies weighing in at 1.5kg which meets the demands of all family appetites. Encased in a short crust pastry they have the following pies available - steak & kidney, steak & mushroom, steak & stilton, steak & ale, chicken & mushroom, ham & leek and chicken, YUM - Get that oven on! 

All of Clarke’s bacon is made using only ‘British Pork’ on the premises and now they can announce that they oak smoke their own bacon on the premises. The taste is unbelievable. 

Sausages for Halloween and Bonfire Night are all hand made by Clarke’s the sausages available for this year - Lincolnshire pork, Old English pork, Jalapeño pork, Churchill pork, Ranieri pork, olive and Italian herbs, Pork & Leek, Cumberland pork, Mahrez Muerguez spicey lamb and beef, Queniborough pork, Farmhouse thin pork, Gluten Free pork - Phew! going to need some extra finger rolls ordering! 

The quality 8oz handmade burgers are proving ever popular with Beef, Caramalised onion & cracked black pepper, Beef & Chilli, Beef & smokey Bacon, Pork and Apple, Pork and Chorizo and Lamb and Mint, that's really being spoilt for choice! 

Now that Summers over why not try some 28 day dry aged rare breed Belted Galloway beef, tasting is believing. Try our dry aged Local English Lamb as illustrated in the image above with traditional leg and shoulder cuts together with racks, herb crusted racks, rack on black, shanks, noisettes and cannons to name a few cuts available. The Olive Tree Company opened their shop at Wistow Rural Centre in March 2012. Having traded for several years from market stalls they opened Mediterranean Deli and Farm Shop in Wistow. The store includes salami, local and worldwide cheeses and fresh fruit & veg. A wide variety of olives and stuffed vine leaves accompany a selection of local breads. Stocking Free range eggs, milk, yogurt, butter and cream with a great selection of pickles, preserves and sauces. They also stock specialised champagne, wines and liqueurs. This is certainly a store with much, much more.

Their fabulous deli stocks yogurt from Thrussington, local honey within 2 miles and supply their own free range eggs. They have the best quality chocolates and make their own cakes. Flapjacks & brownies are hand made from Rachel in Oadby, the Jam tarts, millionaire’s shortbreadandcheesestrawsarecreatedbyMargotinOadby. Thereisanamazingselection of fine wines and local beer from Langton brewery. A HUGE amount of hampers through the year. The deli counter is famous for thier freshly filled rolls, using only the best quality ingredients, and receive comments such as “Probably the best filled rolls in Leicestershire” or “the best rolls for miles”. Our family run farm shop stocks a wide range of homegrown produce from our farm including potatoes, pumpkins, cabbages, cauliflowers, strawberries, courgettes, lettuces, tomatoes and many more. We grow over 40 different varieties on our farm.  

Our eggs come from Smeeton Westerby and Bitterswell Farm, Nr Lutterworth. Our Milk is from Newlands Dairy Farm, Northants. Our local Orton Honey is collected by Mr and Mrs Orton from hives they have all over Leicestershire. Some hives are on our farm. We stock a selection of jams and chutneys, our best seller is our homemade strawberry and raspberry jams, made with our own home-grown fruit. The cheese selection at the deli is extensive and represents local, British and the best of international cheeses, including Sparkenhoe Red Leicester made by the Leicestershire handmade cheese company.
