A Richard III off
It’s not only the historians who are celebrating the city’s famous monarch today, but the people of Leicester are in for a royal treat at the award-winning salon, Barrie Stephen Hair. In honour of Richard III, and the announcement that his remains were found in the city, anyone booking in to the King Street salon at 10am this week Monday 4th – Friday 8th February can enjoy a third off.
The mystery of where the last Plantagenet monarch was laid to rest has been a long-standing question – taking historians all over the world on DNA tests, lengthy excavation work and thorough research, but now it has been confirmed that Leicester was indeed the final resting place for the King of England, killed at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485.
“Leicester has two great sports teams, two great universities, fantastic businesses and theatres, a vibrant business community and it really is a good place to live,” says Barrie Stephen. “I’m Leicester born and bred and very proud of my city, so to hear the news that it’s actually home to a famous king is fascinating. Our salon is just a short walk from the discovery, and so we thought it would be great to celebrate Leicester’s royal heritage and give customers a (Richard) third off.”
