Unseen Forces An Exhibition By David Watkinson Of Kinetic Sculpture And Large Organic Forms
Award winning Borde Hill Garden, in Mid Sussex, will for the first time be showing fascinating works by David Watkinson. From the 1st May - 30th September.
'I am very proud and excited to be staging a sculpture exhibition ‘Unseen Forces’ at Borde Hill Garden, it is a wonderful opportunity to show my outdoor sculpture at its best' said David. “I am greatly looking forward to unveiling new work at Borde Hill Garden 2013, in what is sure to be a very exciting and interesting exhibition in a beautiful setting.”
The Exhibition is based on the unseen forces of nature and the wonders of evolution. David takes his inspiration from the natural world, and in his sculpture he endeavours to point to the relationship between physics and the physical; seeds are flying, molecules are floating, rain is falling, the earth is spinning. His Kinetic Sculpture may be delicately balanced on precision bearings, where small air currents cause large forms to tip and move in reaction, carving a path through space before returning to a balanced position. The large organic forms are a more direct homage to Mother Nature and the simplicity and wonder of evolution.
