Barratt Homes Celebrates The End Of Movember By 'Shaving' Their Showhome

HOMEBUILDER, Barratt Homes North Midlands, celebrated the end of Movember by holding a unique shaving event at their Glenfield Park development in Glenfield, Leicestershire.
The ‘Big Shave’ was attended by the Barratt Homes Mo Bros as well as local barber, James Feely. Mr Feely owns the Barber Shop on Station Road in Glenfield, and kindly gave each of the employees’ facial hair designs a professional trim to show his support for Movember.
It was not just the employees’ moustaches which needed trimming, however; Glenfield Park’s show home was also in need of a shave. The showhome had been sporting a giant vinyl moustache to encourage residents and passers-by alike to support this worthy cause.

Barratt North Midlands’ Big Shave, together with the efforts of employees at their head office in Nottingham, has so far helped to raise £1,183 for the Movember Foundation. This money, along with all donations to the Movember Foundation, will be distributed to men’s health programs across 21 different countries for use in the treatment and prevention of cancer and associated diseases.
James Feely, owner of Hair Design and the Barber Shop in Glenfield, said: “It’s really nice to see a large company showing such a commitment to charity work. I’m so happy that I was able to be a part of such a creative celebration and fundraising event, and I hope that it will help inspire people to get involved in Movember in the future.”
Sales Director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, Jan Ruston, said: “I’m glad that so many of our staff chose to support Movember for the second year in a row and I think that holding a ‘Big Shave’ at Glenfield Park was a great way to celebrate their efforts and raise even more awareness for the cause.
“We hope that our moustached showhome, in particular, helped encourage people to get involved and raise money for the Movember Foundation.”
Movember is an annual event, which is supported throughout the world. By growing a moustache for the 30 days of November, you are helping to change the face of men’s health, by raising valuable funds and awareness of male-associated diseases such as prostate and testicular cancer.
