Stratford Food Festival, an exciting event for families and food enthusiasts
Food Festivals are an exceptional chance to get food enthusiasts out of the kitchen and interacting with specialist food producers, exhibitors and local companies. Taking advantage of our British summer sunshine, food festivals can give food fanatics the chance to sample an array of tastes not readily available from our supermarkets.
The Stratford-upon-Avon Food Festival will be an exciting event for food lovers and all the family on the 14th and 15th September. Over 100 exhibitors will showcase a variety of different foods and drinks. The eighth annual event is at the new location of Stratford Racecourse which offers more space, extra facilities and excellent parking. The event offers something for all the senses. A variety of different stalls will be showcasing distinctive products from Stratford-upon-Avon, the midlands and further around the UK. Not only will stalls be selling products that look, smell and taste delicious, there will be music and special ‘live’ events.
For food enthusiasts a cookery theatre provides a platform for experts and celebrity chefs. This year’s headliners will include food and nutrition expert Sophie Mitchell, previous co-presenter on channel 4’s ‘Cook yourself thin’ on Saturday. TV baker Paul Hollywood judge on BBC 1’s ‘Great British Bake Off’ will be demonstrating and book signing on the Sunday. A taste and talk theatre will be providing a variety of talks, demonstrations and tasting sessions. Artisan pastry chef and cake artist Stefi Jakab will be showing us ‘how to make the perfect short-crust pastry’.
A bandstand will be entertaining the crowd with live music; there will also be children’s area and book signing area. A free shuttle bus service will run throughout the day, courtesy of Johnsons travel, taking visitors to and from beautiful Stratford town centre.
